Welcome to Cat's Cast. Sit back and enjoy. We're in person again today, which uh two. We were remote, so it's nice to be in person and see you see you again, Quinn.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely, it's nice to see you again.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but um, so what has happened in the last month basically? Because now, as you guys have seen, we've been doing kind of an every other week format. Um this is mainly because we're trying to get more in bulk so that we can have a more consistent release schedule. Yeah. Um, but basically in the last month, not like not much has happened. We've been we've submitted to a bunch of festivals. Um we're as we've discussed about if all the festivals that we're trying to submit to, we hear back for our first one like middle of August, yeah. So actually, by the time this episode's out, we potentially have heard back from the first big one.
SPEAKER_01Potentially, it'd be it'd be about to yeah, we're we probably are about to hear.
SPEAKER_00And I'll be in LA at the time. I'm heading to LA for a gig. Oh shit, which is fun. Camera operating some stuff. Oh, yes, yes, yes. You have to be for the NALC for the letter carrier union. Um, I've been doing a lot more camera operating stuff. I've been have some more people hit me up saying, Hey, can you op? So it looks like camera kev dp kev is more and more of a thing every day.
SPEAKER_01Damn, camera kev.
SPEAKER_00Camera kev cowboy kev camera kev. But um actually, I just did a project where uh some old pals from James got to uh work together with me. It was for PMG. Uh we had Jeremy Ponafala, Felix Mazza, and Devin Maldonado were all on a gig together with us. It was I was DP Kev. Shout out to them, shout out them. Devin was cam oping one day. We had Lawrence Sake, who worked on and then there was way back when was cam oping on another day. Jeremy was Genie, and Felix was of course sound.
SPEAKER_01I was thinking about Felix today because something I need to talk to you about, but that's for off this. Um sure, but yeah, I was just thinking about him today and just how fucking good he is, man.
SPEAKER_00Like he's great. It's um again, as we've everyone knows my opinion on Felix is he's fantastic. Actually, funny enough, um, speaking of other people that I think is fantastic, I was just texting Raheem the other day joking with him. Raheem! Raheem, actor from James. He played um what's the name of his character in the film? Jacob. Jacob. He was I don't know, he's it was a photo of him at his place, and I was like, you need to submit for Love Island.
SPEAKER_01He needs to do something, dude. He's like such like a good-looking guy, you know. All right.
SPEAKER_00I'm expecting to see him on American Eagle apparel coming in.
SPEAKER_01Man, I mean, maybe he has, maybe he's tried, I don't know.
SPEAKER_00But like obviously we're obviously gonna work with him again soon, but it was one of those things where we we love all of our actors, we're gonna hopefully work with all of them again soon. But I'd some of the stuff we've been recently writing. I've you know, not uh I've personally been thinking of Raheem for a role or two of that that he's kind of what I envisioned because again, he's such like he's got leading man potential. Ryan's of course also a great leading man. Oh, of course, yeah. But you can't we no offense, Ryan. We can't cast the same lead in every film, no, not at all. You know, we we can we might get you in on another role there, but I was it was more so when I was just thinking of uh potential other actors. Raheem is one of those characters like he was he did great in James, and I think he has the potential for leading man material. That's why I think of him.
SPEAKER_01What do you look for in like a leading man? Like, like to you and to your standards, you're casting a film. What is like your leading man?
SPEAKER_00Well, this is gonna be the most shallow bit of it, but this is the first one, and it is a general attractiveness. Uh you know, I mean it's one of those things where I feel like a leading man, like if you think of like current leading men in Hollywood, like the biggest, like there's old older ones you think of as like Leonardo Caprio, Tom Cruise. Like they are there's a general attractiveness about them that makes you want to watch the movie. It's one of those things like monkey brain us that like you want to watch someone who's young like nowadays, leading men are like Tom Holland in that age. I'm trying to think of Timothy Chalamet.
SPEAKER_01Timothy, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um trying to think of some younger ones. Uh Michael B. Jordan, but he's technically he's like older now than he's no longer like a young leading man. Yeah. Um there's plenty like there's a good amount, like the dude from Stranger Things. I think uh what's the actor who's he's had the theater background, he plays uh African-American, he plays Lucas, that's the name of this character, I think.
SPEAKER_01Dude, I generally I don't know. Stranger Things to me, like that went out the window. Second season for me, I was like done with the show. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I'm looking up Stranger Things actors now, but because I was actually talking to my girlfriend Kat about it, that Caleb McLaughlin, he plays Lucas. Yeah, he is, in my opinion, from the Stranger Things cast, the most leading man looking of the bunch. Not that Finn Wolfhard and Gutten Martzaro are not like leading. I mean, say you think is I think the best actor, actress from the lot of them, but Caleb McLaughlin has a theater background, and I saw him in Concrete Cowboy, which is with Idris Elba, and basically the whole thing is Idris Elba is in Philadelphia, and he's a cowboy in the city, which is the thing that they actually have. And Caleb plays uh a kid from like an acting out kid whose mom is sick of him and ships him out to go live with his dad, and then he basically like is like that farmer. You do farm life stuff to get better about it, but it's set in a city because it's this really weird, like actual thing of like African-American cowboys in Philadelphia. Interesting thing, interesting concept. But um I saw him in that, and he's leading guy in that leading man in that film, and I definitely saw the talent that he has, but that's why I think of like when I think of Raheem and other actors that I worked with that are like I've worked with a couple, and like this is like a leading man type of guy, is that you need a general attract general attractiveness and you need um obviously good acting talents. It's because sometimes though, like if you are there's some great actors that just don't have that general attractiveness, and that sounds like so shallow, but they make fantastic side act like character actors, yeah. That's you know what I mean. And there's just there's some character actors that like their whole bread and butter is being a fan like William Dafoe, where he's never really a leading man, he's been a villain side character, character actor, right? That's kind of usually how it is. Um, you always think of like large juices who did it, like Chris Farley was always a character actor forever. Um, forgive a guy who played Uncle Buck, but uh John Candy. John Candy, and then even now, like I think um oh god, what's his name? He was in Pineapple Express. Seth Rogan? No, no, James Franco. Wrong movie. I'm thinking of super bad.
SPEAKER_01Uh oh, Christopher Mintz?
SPEAKER_00No, the one from Honey Bowl. Jonah Hill. Jonah Hill was a character actor who's now starting to try to be a leading man.
SPEAKER_01Well, did you hear about his new movie, dude? He apparently directed a new movie, and the studio just said it's unreleasable and they can't release it.
SPEAKER_00Ooh.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I mean, I can look it up if you want me to.
SPEAKER_00No, uh, but yeah, he I remember there's an interview that like remember he lost a ton of weight, and he's he's trying to make that move into leading man kind of vibe. Um, but he was always like kind of a side character. And it doesn't mean that like if you're attractive, you're guaranteed to be leading man, because um who's Jonah Hill's friend that was in uh 21 Drawn Street Channing Tatum. Channing Tatum's like, I think he's a side character, he's not a leading man, like he is, but he isn't. Like he's more of a character. He always plays himbo or like he's I can only think of him like the true straight leading man in like two movies. And one, there's a dog in it, and the dog is more of a leading character than him and that movie Dog.
SPEAKER_01Well, they just uh what's that? He came out with that movie, he directed that movie, is it called Roof Man? And didn't he direct like uh um he directed another one too? Jane Tatum? Yeah, Cheney Tatum did.
SPEAKER_00It's I love Cheney Tanner, but it's just one of those things where I stuck I can't remember. There's just some like it's I think true leading men are kind of hard to find. I think Ryan is a leading man for a lot of the same things, and he especially for because I also think leading men like you can't cast Timothy Chalamet as Conan the Barbarian, right? You know what I mean? Like it doesn't you also need a leading man that fits the same mold as the type of movie you're trying to make. And Ryan was like the perfect leading man for James. We casted one of the first castings we ever did for James. Um, I think technically Antonio was first.
SPEAKER_01Uh yeah, if you wanna if you want to count that, yeah.
SPEAKER_00As like as the friend character, like technically, there was one that was I still think we had Antonio Reed, but we kind of knew that he was gonna probably get the role.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, I I had asked him, I was like, hey man, you since you already did this in the short film version, do you want um you know, first dibs? Like, do you even want to do this? And you know, shout out to him. He was like, Hey man, I appreciate it, thank you so much. But this isn't but this role isn't true to me.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I meant more so like actually casting for the movie in general. I think since he denied doing the leading role, he had the first dib to read for it for um for Patrick. He actually after he denied Patrick, didn't he kind of very quickly become the friend actor?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean he was like, but if you have any other like roles, like I'd love and then I gave him the three roles, and he was like, Oh, like I don't I identify much as like this, and then he like reading.
SPEAKER_00So I think technically he was the first casted. If you want to debate my janitor, since I was executive producer, was probably second casted.
SPEAKER_01Well, okay, you were casted like last second, yes.
SPEAKER_00I was casted on set, but that's just um for I think for like Raheem reminds him very much of like he's as much more of like a horror movie leading man. Horror movie, um it could be his own dramas, but I just see him in that same space, and that's like kind of the vibe we're going for next, which is why I'm very excited to work with him again. Um there are some other it's not a downside of Antonio or Liam or any other actors that we work actors and actresses that we work with, it's just in my opinion, and my weight uh holds some meaning around here, you know what I mean? But like it's it's just when you find good actors and you find good potential people who can act and are good and could lead a film and then not be distracting. But there's a reason like when we did the premiere, I've had a lot of compliments about Raheem's acting, yeah. Brilliant killed again. His role in James was perfect for the type of actor that he is, and that's also I'm excited to see when given more to play with what Raheem's able to do, you know, and you know, to keep you completely lucid, it could potentially crash and burn as anything could go. If you give if you gave me the same position as Quinn, like you made you made me, you know, direct and DP a film, you know what I mean? And Quinn was just gaffing, it was pretend we were pretending we switched roles. I could have crashed and burned doing James, you know what I mean? Like I this it's but that's kind of the whole point. I could have crashed and burned being a gaffer on James, but I didn't. I rose to the occasion, and as we've said that about crew members all the time, that's what I'm excited to see. Ryan was someone who's never like a leading man of a feature before. That's why he did he did so great, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, you gotta find people that are like want to do it as well, like they're hungry enough that aren't just like they're just to collect a checker.
SPEAKER_00And so that's my thing is I want to see like a hunger there. I want to see a um I I I I kind of want to see some drive, some competitiveness, but you know what I mean. Behind the eyes, we talk about it. I want to see like an excitement when I talk to the person about the potential of a gig, right? Because sometimes you talk to people and they're just like, Yeah, let me know. You know what I mean? Like, and they just don't really care. That's the worst. I hate when people fucking do that too. And then some people are like, I talk to Raheem in person, and you know, and they're cowboy Kev talking to him about, and I'm like, Yeah, man, like you know, we had this thing that I'm we're thinking about you to be a lead. He's like, Wow, like send me some size, like you know, he's excited, he wants to do it. Yeah, he's um not honored, isn't the right term, but he's like he wants to bite at this opportunity, yeah. And I really appreciate people who are like they're biting at the bit for their shot to the climb up the ladder of of of the industry, right? Um, because I'm like that. And just like when you brought me in and I was just a gaffer, I was like, how well how can I help? How can I help? Like, how can I make sure that this happens and how can I make sure that I get my budget allocated for GE since okay, let me help make budgets, and I think that that's how it moves, how I move upward here behind the scenes here at Novokat's. Right, that's how I went from if you know you were to tell if you were to tell me and Quinn two years ago, right before I first joined Novacats, like how the extent of our business partnership would go. I think Quinn, like, oh, he'll just kind of be around and do Lightning Slip as needed and where I need him, versus you know, in me, I'd probably, yeah, I'd be kind of on call whenever they need me to do stuff, versus now it's like you know, right hand man sort of like it's naturally because I forced it.
SPEAKER_01Well, but you also you wanted to, you know, like as much as you forced it, like you were also like willing to to put in like the the work basically, and and like you were excited about it, as as you said. So, you know, like nothing worse than whether it's an actor or crew member, it's like, yeah, like let's just let me know, man. Like, whatever.
SPEAKER_00I'm not saying that if we hire someone to be a crew member, they need to be chopping at the bit. Like, how do I help in production? No, yeah, yeah, of course not. No, it's just you know, for this, it was I got brought into the company this fucking podcast, you know what I mean? Like things like this, where it's like these are my ideas that let's do this to grow the brand. Let's make sure we submit to these things, let's make sure we do helping you pick, you know, helping you advise and being a soundboard for things like the poster for James and um where do we have the screening? Where do what what film files we'll submit to? You know what I mean? Like that's again one, except this is me as a person, and two, it's I want to, right? And that's what I also think of in a leading man. I want my actor to be kind of annoying, you know what I mean? Like in in that sense of like that they want this to do well, you know what I mean? They want this to be well, they want this movie to go well, you know what I mean. And that's to me, especially we're in this indie space, it's like you want people who are so bought in to their craft and honing it that you can also see them potentially having a larger role in a bigger that's why I say you need a general attractiveness to you. Um, is that you could see them being a lead in a bigger movie down the road, right? And sometimes you work for actors and they're great, but you don't think that like there will always be a character actor, and that there's a limit to that. And there's some great character actors, like um I'm trying to think of like Robin Williams for the longest time was more of a kind of a character actor. You know what I mean? Whereas like he was never like the leading man, yeah. And like uh, especially a younger Robin Williams until kind of like Good Morning Vietnam and stuff, where he like he started really getting some opportunities. Um you know, so that that's kind of where my head is like, and you can always care an actor's growth can always change, yeah, right. But to me, that's the type of thing that I always try to look for is like, oh, who where is my you know, my young uh young Sean Connery, my young Denzel Washington, where's my young, you know, these people that like you could see being in 20 years being a true proper leading man leading in like a training day or a James Bond movie or playing Iron Man, right? That's always for me the like what you try to find. Because also when you're going and pitching the movie, right? Yeah, you need an actor that looks like an actor. Yeah, you don't want someone that looks like me. Kevin, don't do that. Or you know what I mean, but like it it you don't want someone that just looks like it's your friend.
SPEAKER_01No, I mean once again, as you said, as shallow as it is, you've gotta have somebody that that is good looking, that that pulls people in.
SPEAKER_00It doesn't always need to be conventional, because like you sit there and there's that one dude who was um using he played polka dot man in Suicide Squad 2. He was also in Batman Dark Knight Rises as uh the cop guy when the Joker is when Heath Ledger's Joker is trying to kill James Gordon, he's the cop, he's dressed up as a cop, he's like really widespread eyes.
SPEAKER_01Um Aaron Eckhart?
SPEAKER_00Yes. Like he's a character actor, and he's been recently getting more leading role-ish jobs like um Late Time with the Devil or whatever. Is that him?
SPEAKER_01No oh wait. Oh, you're thinking about somebody else. I don't know the guy's name, but yeah, you you are thinking of the same I I'm blanking on the names. No, I gotta look it up. Um but I don't know what I'm trying to say, you know?
SPEAKER_00So David Dast Malkin was that the same guy?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, I know who you're thinking of. Yeah, he was in like the horror movies and stuff. Yeah, he's not in like uh like like fucking insidious or some shit.
SPEAKER_00I think he is an insidious, yeah. So um I'm looking in now, he's in Dune now. Um, he's an Oppenheimer, he had a much bigger role in Oppenheimer, he's a Suicide Squad, late knife to double cure. Um again for people who are just looking up these. You'll recognize if you look at these up, he's not in insidious animals.
SPEAKER_01Um I thought I'm probably just once again mixing up two different people. I'm either really good with like actors or like really bad. Yeah, and he's kind of like more of like somebody I don't really like.
SPEAKER_00But that's a dude who used to play a character actor for a while, and now he's like was getting more leading role bits.
SPEAKER_01Um but it also like he's obviously shown that he's a good actor.
SPEAKER_00Yes, like I think that's for these people who are not to conventionally attractive. You need to show that you are a fantastic actor. Yes, not even just a good one, you need to be fantastic, yes. Um, which is for our space, sadly. It's like if fantastic actors get scooped up, like as we said earlier, Caleb McGaughlin. Um, he was in theater and then he was on Stranger Things. So you know that means that he was immediately scooped up and put into SAG. And he probably didn't work a single real non-union feature, yeah, his entire life. Yeah. Until he now chooses to do one and they or it's a film three or whatever they like that how they skirt around it that way. Um, that's part of my thing with leading men and women actresses. I actually think actresses, my opinions are a little different. Like a leading woman versus a leading man. I just think a leading man, you need to think. I I just think classic, like you know, um everyone was a leading man, it looks like you kind of supposed to look at him be like, yes, that is my like Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe, and Harry Potter movies looks like he's supposed to be the main character of that movie versus but is he though, like, or we have we just like trained ourselves to think of him as that character because he's played it. Like, I think as like a little kid, I don't know if little kid, it's hard to see how they grow up into that, so that's a fair assessment. But fine, uh Mark Hamill and Star Wars. I assume if you've never seen Star Wars, and I showed you a still of them all in the Millennium Falcon, yeah, you could tell there's the main character, like you could point to that's your lead, probably, and that's kind of because they're young, good looking. You know, Harrison Ford. If you look Indiana Jones movies, screenshot it, a random scene. That's your lead right there. You can bet nine times out of ten, you can point to the lead. Yeah, same in a James Bond movie. I think now we get these Marvel movies, you have so many different main characters from their own movies being mod-podged together, then it becomes harder to be like, there's your lead or not.
SPEAKER_01Well, you know how I feel about those movies.
SPEAKER_00Save and prior Ryan, you can sit there and point to here's your main character. Or, you know, when they saw Matt Damon, there as few as people were famously upset that Goodwill hunting became big before Savan Pryor Ryan because it was supposed to be a reveal that this, oh, that's actually the guy they're looking for. But then now, but then they were now they like you know they get on the scene with like three soldiers and one of them is Matt Damon. Everyone knows, oh, so that's Private Ryan. Yeah, you know what I mean? Like because he's a leading man, like it's kind of like this they all kind of look kind of the same. It doesn't really matter across the race fear. If you look, you're like, Oh, there's a leading man, the guy who played uh Shang Chi. That's a leading man. You know what I mean? Like that's they just look it. They have a part, they look like it. If they're in TV shows, as a they're always supposed to be the attractive friend. Like in back in Friends, you would think Joey is like a leading man material versus a David Schwimmer. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like that's kind of the whole point. And that was often a joke, I think, on the show that he was an actor trying to go be a leading man. Yeah, he was all yeah, yeah, he was trying to be an actor. I know that. For leading women, for me, um, I in general, there is an eject uh an objective baseline attractiveness, I think, just to be a successful actor-actress in society. Blame modern society, how you like about that. It doesn't really matter about gender, but I think leading women, um it's one of those things where I think their acting shops matter much, much, much more. Umday is a fantastic actress. Say what you want, like you like say you want about the quality of some of the movies that she's been in. Like, if you don't like her role in um uh Spider-Man, but she's no one can like look at her in Euphoria. You I mean, look at her, like she's a great actress. Yeah, Sadie Sink is always been is gonna be a fantastic like you can just always tell they are always like the best acting chops out of the I out out of the women there, out of the people there. Like in um and like you know, sometimes you get leading women that when they're kid actresses, it's hard to kind of kid actors and actresses is hard when they grow up, like the Chicken Plate 11, uh Millie Bobby Brown, Lugari Brown. Like, I don't necessarily think she's the best actress personally.
SPEAKER_01I don't think that she's that great either. She has those damn Anola Holmes movies that you just keep making. I think that's gonna be her bread and butter basically forever.
SPEAKER_00I don't think you're probably catching those checks from Netflix for a long time.
SPEAKER_01For sure. I mean, good for her, but like she's not really gonna go anywhere, in my opinion, from what it seems like. She's not really stretching her legs to try to like in general.
SPEAKER_00I think female actresses, especially right now, I think are better en masse. There's more, there's more good female actresses than there are like female leading women and then there are female leading men right now. I would say, like in the same age bracket. I'd say I think in older, I think it switches. Like we have more Tom Cruise, Leonardo, like that generation, there's more leading men, I think. But I think right now in our gen, like the Zendaya age, no, I agree with that. There's more leading women. I agree with that, and maybe that's always how it's been, but right now, especially, it just feels like there's more leading women than there are leading men, and I think it's um I think there's like they're cutting a bunch of different types of options, right? Like there is uh it feels like like you know, you have Zenda, you have Sadie Sink, you have Margot Robbie's a little bit older, she's actually much older than them, but you have Millie by Round, but we don't debatably you want, she is still currently a leading woman. Sure. I'm not saying that she is a She really is a touch older than them, but still leading woman material.
SPEAKER_01I just I just think that like, but it's also like the state of like what movies are being made anymore. Like, yeah, I don't know. I think that there's a shift happening. We're seeing it in real time where like the all of like the superhero stuff is kind of going not by like the wayside, but they're definitely not cranking them out because they can see okay, like the the interest has gone away. Now it's gonna have to revert back to more you know what are not superhero movies, whatever, just back to how character-based movies, like where the two characters, three characters, you know, whatever it is.
SPEAKER_00Um and then we're gonna see, I think, a resurgent in the actors. I just think um, especially in these larger movies, even maybe this is maybe the one big benefit out of these big Marvel movies, big Marvel and Star Wars and these big franchises doing that sort of thing, is that they take these leading men that are basically not carbon copy, but like you know, uh Chris Evans playing Captain America isn't that different than um the dude playing the Mandalorian. You know what I mean? Pedroscal's role in Mandalorian, like they it's just guy, heroic good guy, right? And so then you just want basic tractiveness and muscles and skill and fighting ability, like the Chris Hemsworth's Chris Hemsworth's role and in as Thor, like they are different, but they're not that different enough between Chris and Thor, Captain America, like the actors and the roles they're gonna. They're all heroes, they're all good guys, they're all muscular. Right, there's there's there's there's no like acting chomps that you really have to show. I feel like the female actresses in these Marvel movies and these big franchises have necessity, like out of necessity, have had to show more. Like everyone always says that they loved Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow for the longest time, that that was the best actress in the MCU, other than Robert Downey Jr. I had heard a many friends say those things or the chicken played Gamora.
SPEAKER_01Um Zoe Saldon.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like people like, but you hear much more comments about the acting chops of the women in these, but I think they give them less to work with, but then they always tend to kill it, if that makes any sense. Like, you know, like someone like Gamora and the Guardians of Galaxy movies get only get like two scenes to kind of give everything she's got in her acting chomps, and then they'll she'll act her ass off. Meanwhile, um I'm forgetting Chris Pratt gets most of the movie to be just leading man that is funny and quirky and likable, like every other leading man in Marvel, and they all kind of blend together and people with one little quirk. This one is patriotic, this one is from space, this one is funny, this one is I don't know. You know what I mean? Like, but like meanwhile, the women are like, you're given one scene, scroll with your hands in it. You need to be an ex-Russian super soldier whose uterus is torn out that you need to show some emotion here. Go, and she does, you know what I mean? And people like so I think that helped kind of foster especially like this more recognition for each female actors like Zendaya has given again barely anything, but then more than Tom Holland, I think, is given in any of those Spider-Man Spider-Man movies.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't disagree with that. I I think that the women definitely give more, but once again, it's like all those superhero movies. If we're just gonna talk about that, are so just like surface level shit. And bland, yeah. They're so bland. It's like so.
SPEAKER_00If you can get any scene that moves the audience emotionally, then it's bam! And that that moves you up to superstardom real quick. Right. Um that so that's just more of my like my hundred-foot thinking is that and then like when casting you I you the acting chops, I feel like there's this in general, you you always I don't think it's as hard to find. I remember when I was casting for and then there was or not then there was a wolf in sheep's clothing. Um my senior thesis capstone. We didn't have any trouble really finding good female actresses, like it was not relatively easy, but it's easier for us to find really good female actresses, maybe it's younger ones, especially.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I guess it just depends on what the the story is and what the character is, because I don't know. I feel like I just feel like maybe like women's characters, like more like women harder. Well, no, for sure, but I feel like they can like somehow like like relate better than guys can to like what's ripped being written. Not all the time. I'm just kind of saying, like, I feel like they can kind of like tap into something more than guys can. And obviously there, there are guys.
SPEAKER_00Well, this is that you know, age-old like women are the more emotional you know I mean like you're able, they're able to they think more emotionally, they're more emotionally intelligent. That's always but the men are more monkey brain. I'm gonna my girlfriend hates that I am this, so like what do you mean? You say you need to move this table, so I move table. You know what I mean? Like I don't think through the processes always. So I think sometimes for that maybe that's why there's like a there's a lot of for men potentially, and again, I'm we're mostly talking out our asses here. So um, if anyone fully disagrees, please comment or let us know and teach us if there's any actors or actresses who want to come in here and say their experiences doing this, it's probably great to talk to a female actress about this exact thing and and a man actress. We'd love to get Raheem or somebody on. Yeah. Um, but what I am personally thinking here is that I think for men and male actors, potentially there's um since you know it's it's that thing is you're just trying to a lot of men are like looking like, well, what's what how do I be a leading man? And some people are trying to be that. Like, I don't you don't see as many dudes trying to lean into being a character actor. Like Leon was great because he leaned into being himself and being kind of a character, like he's he leaned into that character role of James, and that's what we love. He was a great character, and same with Antonio, great, like bam, I'm gonna sit there and be I'm gonna be this character, and they really took over that character and kind of lived it. Um, you know, and I think I think you find it's good, it's easy to find good character actors with young men, young indie men. Um and for women, it's I think it's easier to find some good leads. I've I I know a lot of feature films I've used indies and they're they had no issue finding a leading woman, and there's always like finding that leading man had been the harder bit. Yeah, I get that. Um so that's when you find one, it's like I'm gonna latch on to that and make sure I use them as often as much as I can. And I feel like we found two between Ryan and Raheem. Yeah, um, because a lot of people want to see more scenes with Raheem, you know, and James. Um you know, I mean that's what I'm saying is that like because he is especially in that role, he's a good actor, he was entertaining, he was engaging. Um so yeah, I know this was a long-winded rant about us talking about actors, but it was that's mainly it, I think. We this is kind of actor talk.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, anything you want to add to it, dude. I no, just that um, you know, uh just excited to to see who else we find. I'm always excited for the next and the future, as much as I love living in the present and now I love keep moving, man.
SPEAKER_00If you're not evolving, you're devolving. You know, I mean I hate to say it like that, but it's just a fact. Like if you're not looking and pushing towards the next best thing, you're stuck in what you're at.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So all right, guys. Well, thanks for tuning in this week. We'll be back in two weeks for you. Two weeks uh with a new episode. Thanks for so much for listening. Uh like, share, do whatever do whatever you do.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. All right.
